Pamela Travers is an English writer. She is famous for a series of books about Mary Poppins. Writer's real name is Helen Hoff. She was born on August, 9, 1899 in the Austrian town of Maryborough. In childhood Helen loved animals very much. She had a great imagination. She read many books and believed in fairy tails. While at school, she wrote plays for school theatre, wrote stories and poems, and her brothers and sisters were very delighted with her fairy tails. However, writing books was not the ultimate dream of that young girl. She studied music and wanted to become an actress. She moved to Sydney in 1917. There she changed her initials to P. L. Travers. For several years she successfully performed in the theater, playing the main role. In the end, writing took over, and Pamela decided to devote his life to literature. The turning point in the fate of the writer was 1924. That's when she moved to England.The first time she wrote little notes for Australian publishers in London and sent a big article about art in the newspaper of their homeland.once she was asked to look after two children, and Travers agreed.
