1. There are a lot of potatoes in the bag. - В пакете много картошки.
2. He has got a lot of books on his desk. - У него на столе много книг.
3. Have they got much chocolate? - У них много шоколада?
4. I like a lot of sugar in my tea. - Мне нравится много сахара в моем чае.
5. Is there much honey in the jar? - Много ли меда в банке?
6. There aren't many beans in the salad. - В салате не много бобов.
7. There isn't much apple jam on the table. - На столе не много яблочного джема.

В первом множественное число значит many исчисляемые существительные во множественном числе значит many правильный ответ

В первом вопросе и a lot of и many можно ставить. Одно для любых слов, другое для исчисляемых
